Also, because they’re waterproof, they’re perfect for a myriad of mixed-medium projects — particularly watercoloring.
However, while they’re perfect in my eyes, it’s hard to believe these fineliners are entirely waterproof. For example, are Micron pens waterproof when completely submerged in water?
That’s obviously a whole other story.

What kind of ink is in Micron pens?
Micron pens contain waterproof pigment ink.
Unlike dye, pigment ink consists of solid particles suspended in a liquid carrier, resulting in an extremely stable formula.
This stability ensures that ink does not bleed or smudge and is highly resistant to water, humidity, and moisture. In addition, it dries very quickly and is long-lasting and lightfast.
The archival, waterproof ink in these fineliner pens makes them ideal for hobbyists and professionals, particularly if your end goal is to preserve your work over time.

Why use waterproof ink?

In addition, waterproof ink is more durable and can withstand exposure to elements without fading. This is especially useful if you plan to showcase or sell your artwork.
Waterproof Micron pens work best on paper, but make sure surfaces aren’t rough to the point where they wear down tips or make them fray.
How long does Micron pen ink take to dry?
Sakura Micron pens typically take anywhere from a few seconds to a minute or two to dry, depending on the surface.

Can you mix Micron pens with watercolor?
You can definitely use Micron pens with watercolor; in fact, I encourage it!
